Dental Implants

Is There a Temporary Solution While My Implant Heals?
Yes! We understand it’s crucial our patients maintain a confident smile while they wait for their implant. Our dentists will provide you with a temporary dental appliance to replace your missing tooth or teeth. The appliance will restore your smile and confidence while we wait for the implant to heal. Once we’re ready to place the dental crowns, the temporary appliance won’t be necessary.
Learn More About Dental Implant Procedures
Dental implants are a safe and effective procedure for replacing missing or severely decayed teeth. Our dentists use high-quality, natural-looking crowns that match the color and shape of your existing teeth to maintain your beautiful smile profile better. We use the latest dental innovations to ensure a comfortable process and gorgeous results.
Our comprehensive dental implant process includes the following:
How long do dental implants last?
Dental implants typically last for many years given the conditions are perfect. If the dental implant is placed in sufficient bone and kept clean it will survive for many years. There are factors such as certain health problems, smoking, and grinding that can cause issues with a dental implant.
Do dental implants require special care?
Yes. Dental implants are just like having teeth. You still need to keep your dental implants clean by flossing and brushing. Regular cleanings and checkups by your dentist are recommended every 6 months.
Does insurance pay for dental implants?
This depends on the type of insurance coverage that you have. You can call your insurance company or have your dental office check for you and have a pre-authorization sent before treatment to make sure you know your responsibility.
Dental implants are becoming more and more popular and many insurance companies are starting to cover this procedure.
Keep in mind that most insurance companies will not cover all of the expenses and you will still be responsible for your deductible and co-pays.
Can any dentist give me dental implants?
Any dentist can place an implant if they are skilled to do so. Placement of an implant is taught in all dental schools just like all other procedures and it is becoming standard of care. It is up to your dentist to decide if they want to incorporate this treatment in their practice. The more complicated cases of implant placement may be challenging for a general dentist and in this case, a specialist will be consulted. Your general dentist can refer you to a periodontist or an oral surgeon if needed to place your implant.
Why should I get a dental implant rather than a bridge?
There are many advantages of getting an implant rather than a bridge. To have a bridge placed the adjacent teeth to the empty spot will need to be shaped to make room for a bridge to be cemented on. Therefore if the adjacent teeth are completely healthy it is best to place an implant to avoid unnecessary grinding of the adjacent teeth. Also with a bridge cleaning can be challenging. Going under the bridge to clean the food and plaque buildup is not very easy to do. With an implant, you can still floss and brush easily without any problems.
What is the success rate for the dental implant surgery?
This depends on many factors. Oral hygiene, level of bone around the implant, health factors, oral habits, type of implant, location of the implant, etc are all factors that can affect the outcome of a dental implant surgery and the long-term success.
Consultation
During your initial consultation, we’ll take the time to understand your oral care goals and determine if dental implants are right for you.
Extraction
Next, we’ll remove the decayed tooth if necessary. Extraction won’t be required if your dental implants replace an already missing tooth.
Bone Graft
Your tooth helps stimulate jawbone growth. However, bone grafting may be necessary to ensure the implant is stable if the tooth is missing.
Dental Implant
Our dentists will begin by setting the dental implant. A titanium screw is inserted into your jawbone.
Crown Placement
Once your implant has fully healed over the course of a few months, we’ll attach the dental crown to the implant using an abutment.
